NEW HOPE HOUSING REED PARK & URBAN PRAIRE
The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) awarded the Resilient Communities Program Grant to the City of Houston to restore the urban prairie at NHH Reed and Star of Hope’s existing 49 acre Cornerstone Campus. The urban prairie is designed to engage the residents of the adjacent affordable housing community and encourage them to take part in the community garden and other green initiatives. The silo pictured above adapts a prefabricated kit to meet the needs of the gardeners and collect rainwater for irrigation.
