Institute Lane

Originally built in 1968 by the architect Herb Paseur, a founding member of the architectural firm CRS, the home’s modular plans and elevations and its clear expression of building materials represent the modern architectural thinking of the period. The remodel keeps the original concept and footprint intact while adapting it to the requirements of the 21st century. Subtle changes were made to the interior and landscaping to allow more natural light into the major spaces and to highlight materials and form. Following the renovation, 85 percent of the original structures and finishes remain intact on the historic gem, and it is now home to the Dean of the Rice School of Architecture.
